Safety
How to handle, charge and store a lithium pack safely.
Lithium iron phosphate is among the more forgiving lithium chemistries, but a battery pack is still a dense store of energy. These are the rules that matter.
Do
- Use only a compatible charger recommended by JRP.
- Charge the battery in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
- Keep the battery between 10 °C and 45 °C for best performance.
- Store the battery at 40-60% charge if it will not be used for a long time.
- Inspect the battery regularly for any damage or swelling.
- Follow installation and connection guidelines properly.
Do not
- Do not expose the battery to water or moisture.
- Do not short circuit the battery terminals.
- Do not disassemble, crush or puncture the battery.
- Do not expose to fire, high heat or direct sunlight.
- Do not use any damaged or unauthorised charger.
- Do not connect cells in reverse polarity.
If a pack swells, leaks or smells unusual
Stop using it immediately, move it away from anything flammable, do not attempt to charge it, and contact support. Do not open the enclosure.
Before first use
- Before using the battery pack, read all instructions carefully.
- Ensure the battery pack is suitable for your EV model.
- Get professional help for installation if required.
- Keep the original bill and warranty card for support.
