Battery Management System

The BMS supervises every cell group individually, not just the pack terminals.

A pack that watches only its terminals cannot tell the difference between sixteen healthy cells and fifteen healthy cells carrying one that is failing. Per-cell-group sensing is the whole point of a management system.

Protection architecture

Advanced BMS protection

A dedicated management board supervises every cell group continuously, not just the pack terminals.

Over-charge protection

Charging is cut at 3.65 V per cell, before any cell can be driven past its safe upper limit.

Over-discharge protection

The pack disconnects the load at the lower cell threshold, preventing the deep discharge that permanently strips capacity.

Short-circuit protection

A fault across the terminals trips the BMS in microseconds, well inside the thermal limit of the cells.

Temperature protection

Sensors on the cell block inhibit charge below 0 °C and cut output above the safe ceiling.

Cell balancing

Active balancing moves charge between cells so the weakest cell stops setting the ceiling for the whole pack.

Why active balancing, not passive

Passive balancing burns off the excess charge in stronger cells as heat until they match the weakest. Active balancing moves that charge to where it is needed instead. The pack keeps the energy, and the weakest cell stops setting the ceiling for everything else.
